Claims adjudication latency is real. Their system caps at ~250 concurrent active claims per month. Go over, and things slow down.
Not gracefully. Not at all.
State surplus reserve requirements also tighten as group size grows. Some states demand more capital backing for larger groups. And 250 is where that pressure starts to bite.
LL5540 sits between LL5530 (300) and LL5550 (200). Its hybrid PPO/HDHP design means it can’t stretch like LL5530 (but) it’s not as restrictive as LL5550.

Upgrade to LL5560. No cap (but) you need 500 participants and a 3-year commitment. No half-measures.
Add a supplemental stop-loss layer for the excess cohort. Works fast (but) adds cost and complexity.
Split-group requests must land by the 15th of the month before your effective date. LL5560 upgrades need 45 days’ notice and full census resubmission. Miss either deadline?
You wait. Or worse (you) risk non-compliance.
